About M.W.E.A

M.W.E.A is nonprofit, humanitarian development
organization (NGO), The organization was founded in2019 by a group of women professionals ,Somali youth Elite composed of, Protection Expert , WASH , Doctors and Nurses expert . It is a private organization, with no political or religious affiliation. Minority Women Empowerment Lead (M.W.E.L) is a nongovernmental, voluntary and independent organization. Established in June 2019 in JowharSomalia-South central Regions of Somalia , Minority Women Empowerment Agency (M.W.E.A) is a Community Service Organization that was Formed with a view of providing services to beneficiaries in Somalia desirous of utilizing-professional knowledge and management expertise in areas of Humanitarian and development. It commenced its operations in Somalia through equipping schools with charities form local diaspora to educate upcoming generations then gradually expanded its support services to the rest of the Vulnerable communities through volunteerism approach of achievements

Our Goal
The main goal of M.W.E.L. is to consolidate women’s roles and capabilities in the Somali community through enhancing their social, political, economic and cultural participation. M.W.E.L conducts trainings, Micro-Credit, seminars, conferences and Domestic workshops that foster an exchange of information and experience among national, regional and international human rights movements.

Our Mission
Minority Women Empowerment Agency (M.W.E.A) supports refugees, internally displaced populations, Gender Based Violence and other persons affected by crises in both urban and rural settings. The key areas include provision of water, sanitation facilities and hygiene awareness and promotion as well as building ventilated pit latrines to serve internally displaced persons at the camps, rehabilitation of shallow wells to provide potable water to the community, and distribution of hygiene kits, sanitary tools and waste disposal bins.

Its mission is to improve quality of life through interventions that build local capacity in underserved communities Somalia. Minority Women Empowerment Agency (M.W.E.A) has responded to the emergency needs of the Somali population through integrated interventions in Health, Nutrition, and Protection & WASH as voluntarily.
